How to Check MVD Notices & Get Your Arizona Driving Record

If I asked you to check your AZ MVD Now account or send me your driving record, start here. This guide explains what to look for, which record to request, and what to send to my office.

Official Arizona MVD website · Opens in a new tab so you can keep this guide open.

First · Check your account

Look for notices and license requirements

Sign in at AZMVDNow.gov. If you have never used the account, follow the activation instructions. Have your driver license or ID information and access to your email or phone available for verification.

  • Open your documents. Look for the documents area, which may be labeled “My Documents” or “Document Center.” Open the actual MVD letters and notices available there.
  • Review your license status and compliance information. Look for pending or active actions, effective dates, and requirements that still need attention.
  • Save new notices. Download every page, including any instructions about deadlines or hearing rights.
  • Check your contact information. Make sure MVD has your current address, and continue opening your mailed notices too.

Keep checking regularly while your case or license requirements are pending. If something changes, send the new document even if you already sent an earlier notice.

Walkthrough

How to download your uncertified MVR

39-second walkthrough: find the driver record request and select the uncertified MVR. Then complete checkout and save the full record using the written steps below. Menu names and screen layouts may change.

Next · Save your driving record

Request an uncertified driver record

An MVR is a motor vehicle record. For this request, I need your driving record, rather than a record for a particular car or its registration.

  1. Find the driver license record service

In the video, scroll to the AZ MVD Now Services List. Under Driver License & ID Services, choose Driver License Record Request. If your screen looks different, look for the driver record request service.

  2. Select the uncertified record

Choose 39 Month Uncertified MVR, as shown in the video. ADOT currently lists this record at $3. Confirm the record type, your information, and the fee, then select Add to Cart. If I requested a different history period or a certified record, follow that instruction.

  3. Complete the request and download the MVR

Follow the payment and download prompts. Save the actual driving record as a PDF. Keep your receipt separately; the receipt alone does not show your driving history.

  4. Open the file before sending it

Check that it is your record, every page is included, and the text is readable. A name such as LastName-MVR-YYYY-MM-DD.pdf makes the file easier to find later.

Fee source: ADOT driver license fees. Fees and available record options can change.

Then · Send it to my office

Send the record and the notices

For current AJB Law clients, send these through your client portal or the delivery method we discussed:

  • Your complete, newly downloaded MVR PDF.
  • Any new MVD notices, including all pages.
  • A short message identifying any deadline, change, or question you want me to review.

Send the full PDF whenever possible. A screenshot of the dashboard may leave out details I need. If you cannot download the document, let my office know.

Keep your login private. Send your documents, not your password or verification codes.

If you get stuck

I cannot sign in or activate my account.

Use the account recovery or help options on AZ MVD Now. Tell my office if the problem is preventing you from getting a requested document. ADOT also offers an MVR request process by mail or through an MVD or authorized third-party office; its records page explains the form and requirements.

I am on my phone. How do I save the PDF?

Open the record, then look for your browser’s download or share option. On an iPhone, you may be able to choose “Save to Files.” On Android, check your Files or Downloads app. If the record opens as a printable page, look for “Save as PDF” in the print options. The exact steps depend on your device and browser.

Does an MVR tell me everything about my case?

No. It is a record generated at a particular time and for a particular history period. Download the actual notices too, and tell me about paperwork you received from the officer, court, or MVD. Do not assume that a missing entry means a possible action has been canceled.

Does downloading the record mean I can drive?

No. Obtaining a record does not change your driving privileges. If your status or restrictions are unclear, confirm them with MVD and discuss them with my office before driving.
